Buying a House
Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes
Owning your own home is a huge responsibility, and more than I think a lot of people initially bargain for. There’s all the improvements you inevitably have to make to get the place how you want it and then on top of that, there are things like insurance that cost a lot of extra money if you let them. When I first bought my house, I hadn’t factored in things like an alarm system (I looked around at home-alarm-systems.com for a good deal) or a fence for the backyard, but both of these things were crucial since I didn’t exactly live in the best part of town. Now that they’re in I feel better, but that initial ding to my wallet was something I was unprepared for after years of renting. It’s really satisfying to know that this place is 100% mine but on the flip side, all of the responsibility of it lies on me! If I had known what an ordeal it was to own and house I might have waited a couple more years to take the jump.
